It's all about me!!!! (27th July 2010)
Actually, it isn't all about me... it does wind me up sometimes when everything about a Wedding seems to be centered around the bride... WHY? Yes, she no doubt looks fabulous etc etc etc... but what about the Groom, doesn't he look just as amazing? The day is about the couple... NOT the individuals (Rant over LOL)...
So, I'm Emma... I'm the wrong side of 30 and I have a toy-boy/toy-fiance (Ed is 6 years younger than me... **High-Five**!!!! ), I have a beautiful daughter Evie who's currently 4 from my previous marriage (yep, I've been there and done it before)... which I hasten to add, I'd never turn back the clocks! If I did, I wouldn't have Evie, and fate would never have led me to Ed! As well as being a mummy, I work as a Finance Manager for a local company, play a bit of Hockey (when I can fit it in) AND have my own Wedding Stationery & Venue Decor Design Company called "A Bespoke Design Ltd". Yes, I'm one of those people who simply can't sit still for more than five minutes, I'm constantly on-the-go.

Obviously, we'll be designing all of our own Wedding Stationery & Decor (Ed will be 100% involved in this too which we're really excited about!). Working within the Industry has given us the opportunity to meet some other fabulous suppliers and professionals, so throughout our planning stages we'll know exactly who to call on when we need something!
Our guests will be directed to our blog so they can watch the story unfold, but we're also hoping to include various snippets of information for brides and grooms to be to help them along their journey... so stay tuned and watch this space!
OMG... I found "THE dress"... that was easy!!! (31st July 2010)
I've had my eye on a particular designer for a while and was over the moon to discover that some of the collection was held by Fleur de Lys Bridal in Saffron Walden. So, I made an appointment, dragged my mum and bestie along with me, kept an open mind and tried on a wide variety and found THE DRESS (which happens to be part of the same design house I'd been admiring)!!! I didn't think from looking at the dress on a hanger that it could be right for me... but OMG it felt sooooo fabulous. I can't wait to go back for a fitting!!! I'd love to be able to share some pictures etc... of it with you, but you'll have to wait until next year!!!
The staff at Fleur de Lys are brilliant & I'm looking forward to exhibiting alongside them (or at least in the same room) at the Parklands Wedding Fayre later this year. I can't speak highly enough of them!

Big Tip for Brides to Be... There are some absolutely amazing (see I used "that" word again) suppliers on Facebook... it's just a case of finding them. The vast majority appreciate the work of other Wedding Professionals on Facebook and regular comment on one another's work, so you should be able to track them down... So, follow all of the suppliers you're interested in and take note of what they say about others... the likelyhood is that if you like there style you'll like the style of the company they're mentioning or chatting with (same rules apply to twitter!).
For me, I had the most bizarre "find" today... a fab twitter & FB buddy uploaded some images of a photoshoot she'd been involved in, so I had a quick look (as you do) and discovered a little something I've heard about but not seen... until now! So, I head back to my tweetdeck, about to search for the company there and low and behold... they'd started following me.... because I mentioned buttons in a tweet!!!!! To cut an even longer story short... a quick twitter chat later and I've found what I'm looking for... no doubt you're all wondering what on earth I'm talking about... well, if you are at our wedding you'll find out... else you'll have to wait for the photos ROFL!!!!

Enough said, you can tell I'm excited... but why? Well, on th 30th of October by Bestie (and Bridesmaid Tracy) and I are heading up to Sheffield to check out a few "bits and bobs" for the Wedding and catch up with some fabulous Wedding Industry Pals... It's going to be FAB.U.LOUS!
